Seeing daddy recently has been as rare as spotting a purple striped iguana perched on the back of a polar bear in the Caribbean!! Well...maybe not quite that rare- but he has been working really long hours and I have not spent any time with him since Monday. Even mommy has only seen him for an average of 5 minutes/day because daddy has been working so hard, leaving the house before we wake up and getting home close to when mommy goes to bed (and THAT is late!!) So- when he came up to get me after my afternoon nap today- I was ecstatic!! At first I was a bit disoriented, because I had just woken up- but then after about 45 seconds I was smiling and happy as can be! We spent the rest of the day playing and having fun and I am SO looking forward to tomorrow when we get to spend TONS of quality time together when mommy is at her real estate Open House. Thanks for working such long hours to "bring home the bacon" for our family, daddy...we miss you but we appreciate it!

Climbing
I have turned into quite a little climbing monkey. I am also starting to take after my godsister Greta, with her love of chairs. I am now WAY into trying to climb up on them, then get down, then get up again, then get down, and up yet again...I think you are starting to get the picture. Unfortunatley, I am not Stretch Armstrong and my legs are not quite tall enough for me to get up by myself, though- so mommy has to help me with a bit of leverage. I do try to do it on my own- but typically just end up getting super frustrated and cry for mamma to come lend a hand, leg, stool- or whatever will assist me in getting up onto my chairs & ottomans. Every so often- instead of the monotonous up & down...I will sit for a while and reflect on how proud I am of myself and my climbing agility. You are safe now, mommy & daddy...but soon the "child proof" rooms will not longer be safe once I grow a few inches and am swinging & jumping from the furniture!

Poppysitter
The only babysitters that have come to watch me have been CiCi and Nana, but that all changed yesterday when I got a huge surprise. Poppy was penciled in to watch me when mommy went to the doc and did her Real Estate thing! We had so much fun! I did cry for a few minutes when mommy left- but Poppy handled it like a pro and quieted me down pretty quickly. He even wore me out enough to take a later afternoon nap (of which have been boycotting for mommy.) To top it all off, I have even had a fever and been a little sick- and I was still well behaved for him. Good job, Poppy!!!! Daddy will be quite happy and might book you for more gigs- because after your visit yesterday, I have been kicking the ball like crazy. To date, mostly I have just thrown and hit the ball with my golf clubs- but ever since playing with you yesterday- I am a kicking fool!! Actually, I have merged all 3 activities into one...kicking, hitting, and throwing all together. Way to go, Poppy- you have not only helped me really get this kicking thing down- but you are helping me multi task my sports...guess I do have some Devine blood in me and take after you a bit with trying to "do it all", huh?? Thanks for a fun day- you are a great babysitter and I can't wait to hang out with you again!Wednesday, May 27, 2009
Memorial Day
Fun in the sun has begun!!!!!!!! We headed down to Avalon this weekend to start the summer sunning, swimming and eating some sand...Yup- you heard me...eating sand. It was indeed a bit gritty- but I thoroughly enjoyed it and plan on eating a lot more this summer! Instead of a lot of words on this blog entry- I am going to let the pics speak for themselves.
Goofing off with Nana, Grandpa, Aunt Courtney & Joe
Lovin' the beach- but NOT lovin' my hat!!
The view from the porch & some bubbles with CiCi
Sandy snack
Cuts, bruises, teething, drool & my first skinned knee
Computing with Bud
Parading around and attending a parade
Dirty feet and not a care in the world...gotta love the beach!!!

God Sistas

So..it is impossible to talk about my Baptism this weekend without also talking about my precious God sisters and God mamma!! Auntie KK, Evie and Greta came down on Saturday to help me ring in my special Sunday! It was extra special because they had to make the trip all by themselves without Tio (Uncle) Flo to help out. I am so lucky to have three great ladies in my life that will go out of their way to be with me and to help me PARTY!! Thank goodness mommy met you, Aunt Katie- because I know that our families are going to be bonded together forever (yeah, yeah, I know...you & my mamma are hoping for Greta and I to wed one day- but we shall see about that one in due time, OK?) Greta is indeed my wonder twin and we seem to go through phases at the same time and have a lot in common...check out the photo's above. They were taken 1 day apart and we are making almost the same face and hand gestures!! Evie is great because she is teaching us the ropes and showing us how to cope! I LOVED having you at my house this weekend, girlies...and hope to see you again REAL SOON!

Baptism

I got Baptised today! To me...this in and of itself does not mean too much...but mommy and daddy have promised to explain it a bit better when I am just a bit older. For now- my understanding of what transpired is that I got to wear my sear sucker suit, stand up in front of a ton of people at church, got some water poured on my head, listened as the nice lady spoke to everyone, got walked up & down the aisle waving to people I knew and even some people I didn't know, and then I got to go eat cake and party!
So back to Mommom and Poppy's house after church for a rockin' party to celebrate...ME!!! Good food, good friends & family, and good fun!! I was a ham, as usual- and partied like a rock star- not wanting to miss a thing and wanting to interact with everyone. It was a super day- and i thank all of those who traveled so far to help me celebrate. Also- a HUGE thanks Mommom & Poppy and CiCi & Bud for throwing me that party and an extra MASSIVE thanks to Auntie KK and Uncle Jeff, for agreeing to be my Godparents...you are stuck with me for life now, ya know!!

My First Professional Haircut
In preparation for my big day this weekend, mommy and CiCi took me to Kids Kuts to get a proper haircut. In the past, mommy has trimmed my luscious locks at home (with nail clippers, believe it or not) but for my Baptism- she wanted me to look extra special. At first- when we walked into the shop I was quite excited- there were animals to ride and a television to watch...but that all changed pretty quickly! The lady sprayed my hair with water and this did not bother me too much- but then the snip snipping started and I totally freaked out! What was she doing to me and why was mommy not saving me from this lady and her shiny silver shears????? I screamed & screamed and wiggled & writhed- and in a few minutes it was all over- or so I thought!!!!! Well- apparetly my cries and erratic movements did not bode well for the haircut that I was receiving and once we got home mommy had to do some repair work of her own. At least this time I got to watch Yo Gabba Gabba and sit on CiCi's lap. My hair still kinda looks a bit jagged and not so perfect.,..but I think I look dashing and ready for my big day on Sunday!
Delaware Museum of Natural History
Boy am I glad that mommy has joined these play groups !! Before joining, we would do some OK stuff to
gether- but not like all of these cool things I have been doing! Please Touch Museum, Philadelphia Zoo, Betty's Fun Center, and now the Delaware Museum of Natural History!! Yesterday we headed to that little old state (The First State, actually) where mommy was born and raised so I could see some cool animals and play with some new friends. We got to see Will and his mommy Katie again as well as 3 other little boys all named Ryan. Well- I fit right in with that group since my last name is Ryan!! We explored all the different animal habitats and I got to see cool animals (even though they were not still alive like at the zoo.) There was a neat part of the floor that I was a bit afraid to walk on at first- but once I saw mommy jumping up & down on the "plexiglass" I decided that it was safe for me to walk on it too. It was a clear floor that had all sea life underneath. It was like i was walking on water!! Too cool!! My favorite part w
as the fish tank as well as the HUGE, I mean GINORMOUS, Dinosaur! It was probably like 20,000X bigger than me and I kept running round it looking up and staring at the extinct beast! After the museum we went with all the kids and their mommies to eat at Cosi and even though I was way tired...I was still a good boy! I had a really fun time, learned some cool stuff, and ate some yummy grub. So...when & where is the next cool place we are going with Playgroup, mamma??

Snap Happy

So...mommy (after months of deliberation, research and contemplation) finally got her new camera and went a bit crazy with it today! She is messing around with all of the manual features- trying to figure everything out and driving me crazy in the process. Since it is just her and I alone together during the day- guess who got to be the subject of all of her tinkering? Yeah- you guessed it...little old me!! She is still getting used to everything, so expect progress in the future- but I think these photos look pretty good. She does have a good model, though- so she better do me some justice!! Check 'em out...
