Can you believe it has been almost a year since my little cousin Luke was born?????? I totally remember going to see him in the hospital and was totally psyched that I got to attend his FIRST BIRTHDAY PARTY this weekend. Auntie Jenna did her little guy proud with a fabulous 4th of July theme of red white & blue (since Lukey was born the day after.) The food tasted great and even looked great once Luke decided that he would rather wear his cake than eat it. Actually- he did quite a good job of eating that yummy sweet cup cake as well as smear it all over every single part of him! He even had to take time out from his party to get a bath because he did such a good job of digging into his first cupcake experience. It was a great day celebrating a great little boy...but stay tuned for updates from his actual birthday, since I will get to celebrate that day with him too!!!

Me & A Movie!
With all the excitement that I have been dealing with this summer- I almost forgot to mention that I went to see my first movie last week!!!!!! Mommy and daddy, CiCi, Poppy and Mommom were free that day- so were able to join me in my first cinematic experience. What film did I see you might ask- well Shrek, of course!!!!!!! All in attendance were not too sure how I would fare- but I was completely into the whole experience. The loudness, nor the dark were a deterrent at all ad nothing- not even offerings of M&M's got in the way of my movie mania! I literally sat through the whole hour and a half film without batting an eye. I got a tiny bit antsy at one point, so mommy and daddy passed m back and forth- but other than asking "Where Gingy go??" when Puss n' Boots ate the Gingerbread Man, I did not make a peep!!Guess it is in the genes- because Poppy is a movie maven and mommy likes nothing better than a dark theater, milk duds and a good flick herself. Now I know what we will be doing on rainy days!!!!

Beach Babes
I have been taking my time, looking through all the pictures that mommy took from our long weekend with Auntie KK, Uncle Flo, Evie & Greta when they came to Avalon- and I was kind of at a loss for where to start and what to talk about since so much happened. I just did not know how to begin to gather my thoughs. We had SO MUCH fun that I think I just have to let the pics speak for themselves. We ate, we played, we cuddled, we beached it, we boardwalked it and most of all we enjoyed the company of one of the most wonderful families EVER!!! Seriously one of the most fun weekends of my life!!!!!!

Family Zoo Day
During our time at the condo in Wilmington, mommy wants to make sure I see all that the city has to offer. On Friday (after daddy returned from his trip to Canada with the boys) we had a family day and headed on over to the Brandywine Zoo- which is only about 3 minutes from us!!I gotta say- this Zoo does not hold a candle to the Philadelphia Zoo- but I got to see a lot of the smaller animals that I did not even know existed, and most importantly...I got to send time with my mommy and daddy (oh- and the MONKEYS!!!!!)

Lights Out!!
Part of the fun with living out in the middle of nowhere with Mommom & Poppy is that you never know what is going to happen in the "wilderness." Well- last week we had to rough it a bit when the power went out. It was not late night- so there was still a tiny bit of sunlight left- but mommy went around lighting candles and getting us all prepped for the black out! I was super excited because no electricity meant no bath...but as it turned out, the power came back on before tubby time. Oh well- it was worth it to watch a movie on my portable DVD player and also get to play around with Poppy's head flashlight...

Swingin' with Antonella
Since we are staying at the Wilmington condo on occasion- we are super close to my buddy Antonella Taylor- so we got to go over to her house for a play date. Her daddy had just put together this superbly awesome swing set/playhouse/table/slide outdoor set, so we were invited over to play with it. We slathered on the suntan lotion and headed outside for some fun in the sun! We played, ran, climbed, swung, slid & took a ride in Antonella's wagon. We were lucky enough to eat our lunch outside at the picnic table. I even got to nap at her house- which was good 'cause I was super pooped from playing. We had a nice long time to enjoy each others company and I so did NOT want to go home that I even got a bit teary in the car. Good times with a great friend- What a day!!

The Classics
I am an equal opportunity motorist when it comes to playing with my Matchbox cars- but when it comes to real life sized vehicles...the feel of a convertible Mercedes is like buttah!!!! Poppy and I have been bonding over playing cars- but when he was gone one day Mommy and I snuck out and had some fun of our own with his 1969 Classic. It's just too bad that I have to wait 14+ more years until I get my license, 'cause I can't wait to put pedal to the medal on this German beaut!!!
