Linvilla Orchard

After an extremely long hiatus from our playgroup, mommy and I got back into the swing of things and into the autumn mood, by going to the September birthday celebration at Linvilla Orchard. Obviously, it was not my birthday month- but i went to help sing Happy Birthday and also to eat cupcakes!!!!!! After eating 2 mini cupcakes (one chocolate, one vanilla) we all headed up to the mini train and rode the "Choo Choo." Mommy thought that they would take us around the track 3 or 4 times- but I think we went around like 8 or 9 times! I loved it- but mamma was talking to the mommy behind us and she looked a little green at one point. When it ended- mommy was happy, but I was a sad cranky camper. I loved it so much I wanted to stay on longer. Mommy pacified me by taking me to the playground where i got to climb stairs, go down a slide all by myself, play in a wooden train, and ride on a cool horsey. We were going to go into Pumpkin Land, but the weather was getting a bit stormy looking- so we went home instead. Good thing we did did because the skies opened up and we would have been soaked if we did not leave when we did!! What a fun day...I can't wait to get back into the routine of going to playgroup!!!

Nan Turns 92!!!!!

HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY, NAN!!!! We went to celebrate my Great Grandma's 92nd Birthday today and boy was it a fun party! There were balloons, cake, and family...what could be better???? As usual...in social settings I was quite the busy bee- preferring to be the center of attention and having a grand 'ole time. My cuz Owen was there- so we had some nice bonding time- sitting on a cooler, with him trying to touch me and me telling him "NO!!" It was pretty fun until Owen took a header off the cooler and landed with a plunk on the floor. he handled it very well, though...only crying for a couple of seconds before brushing it off like a big kid! I was impressed!!! I was very well behaved and even stayed in the area where the party was being held- only venturing off the carpet area when someone who lived in the facility wanted to talk to me. All in all- i think nan had a nice time at her party! She was so funny...she knew she was in her 90's but was not sure of her exact age. When she was told that she was 92, she said "I'm Old!!!" You are not old Nan...you just have a lot of life that you have lived (61.33333 times longer than I have been on this earth, to be exact!) and a lot more time to spend here with SOOO many people that love you! Hope you had a HAPPY DAY!

Happy Hour

Not only did mommy and daddy get to go to a Happy Hour on Friday night- but CiCi and I got to partake in a happy hour of our own. (But ours did not include alcohol!!) Mommy and daddy just do not get out enough and CiCi was nice enough to come and babysit me so they could have some fun adult time!!! Well- they went to a happy hour with some friends and drank some beers while CiCi and I stayed home and had some FUN! I had just gotten an early Christmas present (yeah 3 months early because mommy AWFUL at keeping presents secret) that day- my Rody Horse- so I got to show off for CiCi bouncing around on my green inflatable fella that I call "guy." I had such a nice time, CiCi- and mommy wanted me to thank you a million times over because she and daddy had a great time!!

Finger Painting Fun

Who knew that I could have so much fun with my fingers...oh- and just a little (or a lot) of paint!!! Mommy and I have been doing more art type activities now that the summer is winding down and we have to hunker down and prepare for more indoor activities. Up to this point it has all been very clean, contained projects using "magic" markers that only color on the "magic" paper, crayons and stickers. Mamma decided to let me have the GOOD STUFF this week and how glorious an experience it was!!!!!!!!! There were a few parts of my body that were not covered in green paint- but you really had to look to find them! Mommy called me "The Hulk" and laughed at me quite a bit. All laughing was over when she plopped me in the sink and washed me off, though...not fun!! Apparently- after the fact, mommy spoke with CiCi (who was an art teacher for elementary school kiddies, so she does know her stuff) and instead of putting the paint in cups and letting me have my way with them...the correct (and much cleaner) way to finger paint is just to put a dollop of paint on the paper. Mommy, I beg to differ with CiCi- just let me go hog wild with the paint!! I promise I won't scream quite so much next time during clean up if you let me have all the paint that I want during art time!!!

Officially Over

This weekend was officially our last weekend at the beach and I am so sad. I asked mommy & daddy why the beach closes down and they explained that it all has to do with the weather. Summer is for sand, beach, seagulls, surf and tons of people. Winter is for snow, jackets, hats, mittens and chilly weather that is not suitable for beach swimsuit romps!I am not too sure what to think of all this "winter" talk...I get the feeling that it will be a whole different thing to deal with. Mommy has started to introduce me to some indoor activities since she thinks we will not be spending as much time outdoors. Well- I have some other plans for her. I am such an outdoor kid that I think I will still try to spend as much time outside as possible...we will just be wearing more clothes, that's all!!!

So...since we have something planned in PA every weekend from now until the end of October- I really outdid myself running & playin' on the beach this weekend with mommy, daddy, CiCi- and even a friend of Daddy's who brought his 3 boys to Avalon for the day. Nico (9), Bryan(5) and Marcos(4) and I ran on the beach, colored, played ball and just had a rockin' good time! Daddy, Bud and I watched some football on Sunday- which I think is going to be a great manly bonding tradition in months & years to come. Daddy was extra brave with me in the water- swinging me as high as the sky- and mommy got down & dirty (literally) when she rolled and played with me on the ground and covered every inch of her and I with sand. CiCi outdid herself too...playing Hi Li Ball with me, helping me throw sand into the ocean, and finding rocks for me to turn around and...you'll never guess...throw them like a ball!!!! We even had fun off of the beach- with a trash picked pair of bikes, sidewalk chalk, and a super deflated dragon ball! CiCi made me extra happy by providing me with such great outdoor activities- and I think I made her very happy by saying her name countless times! I sure hope we are invited back next year- because I bet I will be have even more fun and be super brave in the ocean. What age do they start surf lessons??? So- summer is gone- but the memories are forever and I just know that I will always be a beach kid!!

Wild Animals

No...I am not talking about the zoo animals- I am talking about me & Maddie!!! Miss Kathy and Madison came with us to the Philadelphia Zoo yesterday and we basically had the whole place to ourselves! It was amazing. There were probably only about 10 other people in the whole zoo besides the employees. Because it was so incredibly desolate- mommy even let me walk around and I was not confined to the stroller. Boy did this make seeing all the animals just that much better! Most of the other times that we have gone to the zoo- it has just been mommy and I...but it is so much better to go with a buddy and to get to walk around without the fear of being trampled by hordes of other kids! Madison is a cutie and she just could not get enough of the monkeys. Miss Kathy, her mommom, even bought her a monkey in the gift shop on the way out. Mrs. Kathy wanted to find something for me too- but mommy had to open her big mouth and explain that I had way too many toys already and that I was to go home empty handed...thanks a lot mom, I had my eye on a sweet rhino stuffed animal that is now an orphan!! I guess thats OK, though- because the most important thing was to be outside, enjoying the beautiful chilly autumn-ish day with good friends!

Gag Burp

If any of you know my mommy just a little bit, then you know that she has quite a problem with burping- more specifically, gag burping. She has gotten better with controlling these since her pregnancy, but sometimes they still come out and are extremely gross. I am not too sure if it is genetic, or if I have just happened to catch her doing this a few times, but I guess the apple does not fall far from the tree...

Sometimes I just gag burp if mommy even shows me a food that I do not want to eat. Tonight's occasion was not entirely my fault. You see- I am not used to eating spaghetti. Typically mamma makes, penne, fusilli, bowtie and any other sort of pasta that is not quite as messy as spaghetti. So- at dinner this evening when I was trying to slurp these long wormy like creatures, thing got a little out of control and a gag burp ensued! I might need to work on my manners a bit- but as usual, mommy outdid even my awful table etiquette when she laughed at me and snorted. At least we were able to cut up my pasta and have me use my fork to avoid another near gagging on stringy noodles- but what are we ever going to do with her?????

DIP DIP DIP

Mommy has been trying to find ways for me to eat more food- and one idea (that she stole from my wonderful god sister Evie) is to dip foods. The obvious choice is ketchup- but we have also dipped bead products into yogurt. Mommy does have to police me a bit, though...because left to my own devices, I would just dip & suck the dipping sauce off the dipping instrument. When told to actually eat the bread, quesadilla, or chicken finger- I begrudgingly will...but would much rather just suck the off sweet sauce without actually having to take a bit of the food! My favorite part of this whole process is that I always say "dip" when I dip my food!! Typically it is in a very high pitched voice- but this was the best video mommy was able to get...I did not feel like cooperating and letting her get the actual noise that I make. I have to keep her on her toes! If she is going to make me dip AND eat- I have to make her work at it a little bit too, right??
