Last Day Of School

In a very short time, my new school has become very important to me...so it is with great sadness that I said goodbye to Mrs. Thompson, Mrs. Weathers and all of my classmates today!!! Hopefully I will be able to keep in touch with my besties Ben & Zack, even when we move to our new house which is kinda far from the city. I told mamma after saying goodbye to everyone that I already missed my girlfriend, Lauren. But that is OK- because Lauren and I agreed that we were going to get married- so I know I'll see her again! My teachers told mommy that they were thankful that I joined the class- because I helped to bring the class together like it had not been before my arrival...So- I guess it was a good fit for everyone! Thank you so much Weekday School, for making the last few months wonderful for me!!!!

That's One Big Bird!!!

Saw this on the street in the Home Depot parking lot and I asked mom...

"Is that bird poop??" She laughed at me...but if that was from a bird- it is no laughing matter,

'cause it was huge!!!!!!!

While we were celebrating Memorial Day by playing with sparklers, we learned a very important lesson...the dried out pine needles that these southerners use instead of mulch is quite flammable!!

Dinner And A Kiss

Not only did I get to go over to the Petrane's house today to play- but we also went out to the Hickory Tavern (one of my fav places) for dinner. All during dinner I was the kissing bandit...giving Reilly tons of smooches!!! At one point she turned to me and said "I know you love me, you have made that perfectly clear!!" Yup- she's right- I am smitten...

Swimmin' In The City

 

Our condos pool is like an oasis in the middle of a concrete jungle! Once you are behind the  brick privacy wall, you would not even know that you were in a city! Well- I guess you would when you look up and see the buildings towering over you- but the plants, breeze and smell of grilled steak from the Ruth's Chris Restaurant next door make it a great place to cool off and take a dip! Now we just have to talk to the restaurant about delivering poolside...

Time Out

I am learning that no place is sacred from being given a time out. Mommy strikes again- giving me a time out while walking down the Charlotte Uptown streets. Bet it made all the business men and women giggle to see my tush planted on the highrise building steps serving time!!!

 

 

5 Year Well

For the first time in my whole entire life I did not get to see my beloved Dr. Long at my yearly well visit to the doc. My new doctor is Dr. Moorman and he is really nice! I am not sure if he really knows his stuff or not, though...because when he tried to listen to my heart, but put the stethoscope on my head!!!!!! He is goofy- so of course this means I like him a lot! All of my measurements checked out as they have in the past...40th percentile for weight & 30th percentile for height. I did not need any shots this time, which made me super duper happy- but I did have some probs with my hearing in my right ear. Dr. Moorman referred us to an ENT and we went there this week. Turns out, I do have a little hearing loss but nothing permanent. It is due to these dang allergies down here in NC!!! I have some built up "negative pressure" in my ear.  The doc gave me this cool contraption thing that i blow on thru my nose and it should inflate a balloon. This will help me to "pop" my ears! I also got some nose spray that should relieve the allergies and then my hearing will be back to normal! So- nothing to worry about folks! I will once again be the perfect 5 year old specimin in no time!!!

Reilly

Good news...I got to see my main squeeze Reilly recently!! Bad news...she is not moving down here for good until mid June when she & her bro Brennan are finished with school. But- we sure did have a nice reunion and I had a blast playing with her at the park! She will be back down here for a visit later this month and I am already couting down the days until I can be reunited with my girlfriend!

Jack & Zack

One of my best buddies got to come over last week for a playdate. He walked home with me and mommy from school!! I had been to his house a few weeks ago and learned that he was just as in to Legos as me!!!!! So- this time I got to show him my collection and we played for hours. Not only did we Lego it up...but we also built a huge fort that basically took up the whole family room and expermimented with ooze! Zack was not feeling 100% because he was having some allergy/asthma issues...but even though he was tired and wheezy- we both agree that we had a blast!

 

City Activities

Another fun thing about living in the city are the fun activities that we get to participate it. They are within walking distance and more times than not are right across the street from our condo. So far we have seen a bike race, bikers doing tricks on  ramps & a mexican festival with a mariachi band!!! I liked the bike race the best. They would zoom by us so quickly that they were almost too hard to see!!!

 

 

Hilton Head

We were lucky enough to go visit Papa in Hilton Head last weekend. Mom, Dad and I packed up the car and hit the road on Thursday after school- and then I got to play "hookie" on Friday (Shhhhh- don't tell my teachers!!!) We walked on the beach, swam in the pool and checked out the wildlife in the marsh area in between our condo and the ocean. Mom and Dad thought that I would have forgotten all of my swimming skills over the winter- but I did just the opposite. I started out being able to swim better than I did last year! I swam halfway across the long part of the pool. (again and again ad again!!!) I  even remembered to breathe  and do my freestyle arm strokes. I also was able to retrieve my spider man toys that sink to the bottom of the pool- in the 4 foot section!!! I could not even touch the bottom- but I could swim down to get my toys all right!!! It was a super weekend and I am so happy that I got to spend time with Papa! Let us know when you are going on vacation again, Papa...I bet I can talk Mom and Dad into letting me come with you!!!!!
