Grandparents Day

I was worried that since I moved far away from all of my family that special occasions such as this would not be well attended...but boy was I wrong!!! CiCi and Bud were able to come to my Grandparents Day a school and eat lunch with me. Not only that- but all of my other grandparents sent me awesome letter that we read at school  that day! I am one lucky little boy!!!! I might be far away down here in NC- but I am still feeling the love!!! Thanks to all my awesome g-parents!

Golf

Daddy is enjoying the fact that I am loving my golf class- so in order to help spur me on even more- we went mini golfing this weekend! Poppy and I both got hole in ones...but we eventually stopped keeping score because we were just all having so much fun. I told Mommy that she does not even need to come with Dad and I next time- she can stay home so we can have some guy fun. It was fun "fore" all!!!!!

Friday Night Football

The Weddington Warriors  had a football game last night and all of us kindergarteners were invited onto the field to usher in the players, sing the national anthem and say the pledge of allegiance. It was such an honor to get to do this- so mommy, Poppy and I headed over to the school the be a part of the big event!  Not only did we get to go onto the field...but we got to run through the big inflatable football helmet tunnel! There is even a line backer who has been in the paper recently and his name is Jack Ryan...so of course I was routing for him!!!!! I got the wear the school color- green, hang with my teacher, play with buddies from school & listen to a real live marching band and the Warriors even won...It was AWESOME!

After School Activities

This is me yesterday after my golf class!!! I had so much fun and was sooooo happy! I am loving the "enrichment" activities that mommy & daddy have signed me up for after school. Not only do I get to go to school which is super fun- but I get to go to these classes right on my schools campus for an extra hour after regular dismissal. On Tuesdays I go to "Bricks 4 Kidz" which is all about building with Lego's- and on Wednesday I go to "The Better Golf Academy" which will help me get back that killer swing I had when I was 2 years old. Hopefully the golf class will get me up to "par" and I can start going out with daddy on weekends and hitting some balls!

The Green Folder

The Green Folder comes home every day with me and this is how my teacher communicates with mommy & daddy. In it is info for upcoming events, paperwork that needs signatures, school programs details and also my daily behavior calendar. The daily calendar is the one thing that mommy and I talk about each and every day.

I'll break down for you how it works. In our room we have a color coded chart and a clip with our name and picture. Each day our clip starts out on blue. From there we can either go up to purple and get to pick out of the treasure box, or we go down. At the end of school we color in that day with our corresponding color/behavior for the day...

Purple: Exceptional (visit the treasure box)
Blue: Great Day (class expectation and where everyone begins the day)
Green:  Oops!  I forgot
Yellow:  Goodness, no! (I need to make better choices)
Red: Parent and/or principal contact

As you can see I did get one green. I was hoping that mommy would not ask me about the "green" day- but to no avail! Once asked about it, I sheepishly told her that I did not even want to tell her why. She told me I should always tell her everything, even if I think I might get into trouble...so I eventually did fess up. Since I conquered telling mom, I guess I can share it here as well...I danced in the cafeteria! Yup...danced in the cafeteria! I was not sure how mommy was going to react and I could swear that I saw a slight smile creep across her face before she got serious again and talked to me about why that was probably not the best idea. Mommy went on the explain that while dancing at home with her is fine and even encouraged...there is a time and place for everything and apparently the school cafeteria, surrounded by mac & cheese and  kids scarfing down there pb&j sandwiches is just not the right venue! Guess I'll just have to save it for my first school dance in the gym then, huh???

Emily Jane

With the craziness of my summer, I have not yet had a chance to talk about the most important thing that happened!!!!!! Moving in to our new house, you might ask- or me starting Kindergarten? Not by a long shot! The most fabulously wonderful fantastic happy and exciting thing that happened all summer was the birth of my newest little cousin!!! Emily Jane entered the world only 1 day past her due date...but weighing in at a whopping 10+lbs!!!! I predict that she will be bigger than me by the time she is 2! I have not had a chance to meet her yet (which I am super bummed about) but I think about her, Aunt Court & Uncle Joe all the time. At least Virginia is a little closer to us than if she lived in Pennsylvania. Don't worry, l'il cuz...until I see you, I am going to think of all the tricks of the trade that I can share with you on how to be an awesome kid!!!!

Sleepy Heads

Guess what we did on the first full day of school? We overslept!!!!! Mommy, Daddy and I all went to bed early & set our alarms like we were supposed to- but then Mommy accidentally turned off her alarm without getting up at 6am! She just rolled back over and slept some more...can you believe that?? What is more unreal is that Daddy did the same thing with his alarm!!! So- at 6:35 she jolts me awake and from that point on it was a flurry of rush rush rush to eat, get dressed, brush teeth, pack lunch & snack and get out the door by 7am. We did it- and we were dressed to the nines and lookin' pretty good, I might add! The rest of the day went a lot more smoothly and my first day with all the kids was AWESOME!!!!!!
