Busy Busy Bee

This past weekend was a BUSY one!! In a mere 2 days we were in 3 states and had 4 commitments to attend. All of this was on the tail end of a very busy week too!!! Mommy schlepped me around a lot this week with Real Estate work- so mommy and daddy were afraid that I would be quite the pickle this weekend. My first engagement was to go to my "cousin" Braydon's first birthday party! (He is actually my second cousin- his daddy is my mommy's cousin.) He is such a cool little boy. Apparently we have a lot in common...he likes balls and likes to dance, two of my most favorite things!!!! Braydon, unlike myself, is mellow and a calming presence and this rubbed off on me a bit since as you all know I am typically a bit of a handful!! I was on my best behavior and I even shared toys with him! Well...they were his toys, so I guess I kinda had to share- but I did it without any crying or fussing! Mommy was so proud of me! Great party and I got to see a lot of family, including Aunt Liz, Aunt Lois, Uncle Steve and my Great-Grandma Grace!

Next stop was down to Maryland to celebrate Mommom's birthday! Mommy made her dinner and they had a really nice time. I had to go to bed before the partying really started- but I still got to spend some quality time with Mommom and Poppy, who I now call Pappa since Poppy is just too hard for me right now. I impressed Mommom and gave her one of my drawings- oh...and I also said her name too- which totally made her day! I think she liked that even better than her actual birthday present!
Sunday morning brought with it a trip to Elkton Presbyterian Church and a church service which I refused to sit through. I mean, come on...I was good ALL DAY Saturday- but sitting through church was just too hard for me on top of all the other scheduled events. I was antsy and was starting to get a bit too verbal and unhappy, so mommy got to stay in the service- and daddy and I went walking...exerting some energy and enjoying the outdoors in downtown Elkton.

After the wonderful walk- it was off to the church picnic to help celebrate Auntie Jane, who was retiring from being the organist for the church for the last 25 years. The picnic was fun- with tons of balls and toys, good food, and my Pipop!! Pipop is Mommom's daddy and he is the only great grandfather that I have actually been able to meet in my life. I felt very comfortable with him and had a blast playing ball with him!

All in all- it was a super busy, but REALLY fun weekend. I think it is going to take me the next few days to recuperate, though...so mommy and I will be catching up on some sleep and getting me back into my much needed schedule! Party boy is on a hiatus...so check back in with me in a few days once I have recharged my battery!!

Happy B-Day, Uncle Boog!!

My Uncle Sammy and I share the same number date for our birthday- the 28th!!! So it is with much admiration and love that I wish you a very very very happy day!! Mommy said that Auntie Jenna gave you the best surprise ever at work today- a birthday visit from Luke! I heard that there were cupcakes too- but I bet everyone preferred to gobble up Luke instead!! So glad to hear that you had a happy one- I wish I could have seen you in person to give you a birthday hug...Love ya!

Skeeterz

I am beginning to realize that these little monsters called mosquitos are NOT my friends at all!!! I think for most people they are a bit of a nuisance- but to me it goes much much deeper. Apparently, I am highly allergic to these little mongrels bites and they affect me pretty badly!!! Not only did I get a few bites today from playing in the backyard- but there was a particularly vicious little mosquito stuck in our house that kept attacking me. I must have gotten 2-3 additional bites after mommy had already applied my goop! It was like a never ending chomp fest on my poor delicate skin!!!!!!Above photos are some of the love bites that I have received from these nasty insects. Keep in mind the photo of the bite on the bridge of my nose is about 1 minute after I was bitten!!!! I swell up like you would not believe. If mommy does not immediately put a Baking Soda paste on my bite- it turns into the picture of my elbow...with golf ball sized raised welts that are red and hot to the touch. Much worse than the actual bites is having to endure the baking soda paste that mamma slathers on me in bulk!!! I guess the good part of having to sit with that gunk all over me is that I usually get to watch some TV and get a treat- this keeps me still and occupied and I am not running around the house or trying to pick the white globby stuff off my skin. I got 3 welts on my face yesterday- but due to mommy's quick thinking and a massive supply of baking soda application- I do no look like the Elephant Man today!! I have bbe told that my allergy level will lower at some point once my little body becomes more aclimated to the poison. Let's hope so!!! How embarased will I be if I am 19, on date with a girl, with golf ball sized welts on my face!!!!

Time Outs

Well...it seems as though I am a full fledged toddler now- including acting up and needing time outs. Mommy and daddy thought long and hard about how & where to make me serve my time and came up with a pillow on the floor- that way time outs could travel. If it was a specific chair or place in our house- then it might be harder to give me time outs on the fly. This has, unfortunately for me, seemed to work very well so far. The only roadblock that mommy has run into recently was when I was throwing the food out of the cart at the grocery store and would not stop when asked- she had to improvise and stuck me in a relatively empty isle, while she turned her back to me. The one older lady who happened to stumble down the pasta isle during my minute of reflection might have thought the scene a little weird...but mommy is over being embarrassed by me in public- so I guess I better shape up out in public 'cause who knows how she will have to make it work next time. When mommy first started giving me the dreaded time out...I just did not understand that I needed to sit on that darned pillow. Well- after me trying to get up about 30+ times for my first few attempts with staying put at time out- I finally got the picture and realized the sooner I just sat there- the sooner my punishment would be over. It is not so bad- but when mommy forgets about me and I sit on the pillow for 5 minutes (like I did today because she forgot about me while talking on the phone to Miss Lisa) I get a little upset with her. Even though she did this to me- I was a good little boy and did not even make a peep (which I guess is how she forgot about me.) I guess these time outs are just a part of my life now. Even though I do get more of them than I would like to admit for throwing things and hitting mamma- I am certain that once I get a better hold on my verbal skills and communicate better, I will have less frustration and the time outs will become fewer and further between!

Virgina Beach Gets A Jack Attack!!!

Mommy, daddy and I headed down to Virginia Beach for a mini vacation this weekend. The real purpose was to go to a wedding of a couple that daddy knows from work- but I just got to party like a rock star!!!!! Another family that mommy and daddy knows, The Tracy's, went too- and I got to hang out with their 4 year old daughter Ava. She was so wonderful with me- sharing all of her toys and playing with me in the pool, watching Scooby Doo (her fav) while our parents ate sushi (while we ate noodles and applesauce with chopsticks), and for dancing & running with me at the wedding!

Um...speaking of the wedding- I was a dancin' fool! Seriously...I was the hit of the party and was front & center at all times- shakin' my groove thing out on the dance floor. When I had to vacate the floor to let the bride and groom have their first dance, when the best man gave his speech, when I had to eat, I was NOT a happy camper. I screamed my little head off and mommy had to take me out of the ball room. When I was out there strutting my stuff, however- I was happy as a clam and flirting with the cute girlies!!! I even got to participate in the "line dancing" and I was actually keeping the beat and was stomping my feet at the right times! *****A little side note- theses pics do not even come close to doing my dancing techniques any justice!!*****

When I was not dancing and being a ladies man, I was just hanging at the pool and catching some rays. There was no kiddie pool- so I could not go off by myself...but that was OK- I totally enjoyed mommy and daddy having to tote me around in the deep water. Daddy even dunked me a few times (on purpose- thanks daddy!!) and I did not even cry! ON the way home- we didn't want to stop for lunch, wasting precious time...so I got to have my very own Cheeseburger Happy Meal (with a milk- no soda) from McDonalds. Don't worry- mommy already informed me that this would NOT be a habit- but that stinks, because I loved it! I ate most of my cheeseburger and about 10 fries. I was a little fast food piggy!!
It was a super fun long weekend and I could not have asked for a better companion in Ava- we totally took VA Beach by storm! Even worse than Hurricane Bill!!!!!

Lightenin' Up

Both mommy and daddy were blondes when they were younger...so it looks like the sun is doing it's job and lightening up my locks!!! Yup- I am a blonde (ish) sunkissed beach boy and I love it!! Oh yeah...check out that tan too! The line forms to the right, ladies!!

A Moment For Mommom

Can you believe that 2 of my grandparents Birthdays are in one week??? Well- they are...so we shall now celebrate Mommoms B-Day with a few words!! What can I say about Mommom??? Where to start? Well- I guess I should start with the fact that she keeps me constantly outfitted in the coolest clothes and always has my favorite foods when I go to stay at her house. Mommom calls me "her boy" and that is so true! She lets me get away with more stuff than Mommy does- so it is totally fun to go visit her and Poppy! I could go on & on, so I need to cut right to the chase...You are great!! In short- I just want to say that I love ya and I hope you have a fabulous Birthday!

How Low Can You Go??

I think that these pictures pretty much speak for themselves...

Mommy swears that she did change my diaper a few times today- I guess I was just not retaining water!!

Birthday Bud

Today, on this very special day, I wanna take a sec to talk about Bud!!!! My Bud and I have had some very special times this summer! He has taken me to the Avalon playground and just this week he even came up to the beach...twice!!!!! Bud is a nice, reserved, but fun presence around the house. When I was younger, he used to play "I'm gonna git you." Now- our fun & games has progressed to "sneak attack!!" Regardless of whether we are playing fun games, or just taking some time to look at fun & interesting things on the computer- I sure do love spending time with my Bud!!!!! Hope you have a Happy Day with many more Birthdays to come!!

Comfy Sleepin'!!

Recently, I have been trying to get a leg up in life...so I have resorted to sleeping like this!!! HAHAHA-...Not really- it is just comfy! The first time mommy saw me with my legs hanging out of the crib, in between the rails- she was afraid they would get stuck or I would hurt myself in my sleep. Because she is a little crazy this way- she went into my room and silently, without waking me- removed my legs, thinking that she had done such a good deed and saved me from nocturnal injury. Well- she has since given that up and come to grips with the fact that I WILL NOT hurt myself by sleeping this way since I do it almost EVERY NIGHT!!! Now she just giggles and marvels at some of the positions I get myself into while sleeping! Who needs TV when you can just stare at the video monitor. Wait minute...I should feel violated and my privacy invaded, shouldn't I???
