Summer Cold??

Mommy thinks that I have had a cold for the last few days...but she is still not too sure if that has been my problem or not. I guess that's a first time Mom for ya- unsure, but grasping at straws & guessing!! Anyway- on with the story...Mommy and I went down to Maryland to spend some time with Mommom and Poppy and I was a bugger!!! I was very irritated and crying non stop. I was coughing, sneezing and had some runny nose action. Mommy had noticed all of these things over the past couple of days- but not all at the same time so she really did not think too much of them. All of these things, though- in their entirety, did not seem to come to a head until Saturday during our visit when I insisted upon screaming (probably one of the loudest & longest crying fits I have had to date) until I passed out from exhaustion. Mommy hopes that it was a cold- because that would have explained my fussiness and lack of sleeping over the last 4 days. I seemed to be back to myself today, thank goodness. I am all smiles & coos again. I guess we will never know if it was a cold- but I wanted to post a happy pic- not a sick one. So, here is one of my Mommom and Poppy & me!!

Drool is Cool

I am not too sure what is going on with me these days- but it seems as though I am just producing more spit than my mouth can handle!! It is totally crazy and I just do not know how to manage it. Mommy has had to start putting me in bibs ALL of the time- because if she does not, then my whole shirt is just wet, wet, wet and then my whole chest is clammy and wet, wet, wet also!!! Ugh...it is kinda gross and I hope it abates soon!

The Crib is Calling

After 3 months of sleeping in the pack and play- Mommy has decided that I am a big enough boy to start sleeping in my room in my crib. She has started to slowly acclimate me to it so I don't freak out on her and boycott it all together!! She started out just putting me in it when she was putting away my laundry, etc... and we have been working our way up to sleeping in it. So- for the first time yesterday I took a nap in my crib!! It was not a long nap, mind you- only about 25 minutes...but it was a nap none the less. As I was taking my "cat nap" in my crib- our cat Mia was taking her cat nap on one of my toys. I thought it was funny and am more than willing to share my play mat with her!! Mommy is happy that I am making progress (with both napping and sharing!!) and hopefully very soon I will be sleeping exclusively in my wonderful room/crib!!

Do I Have Sole, Or What??

I know that many of you were worried when I was born a boy what Mommy would do about not being able to buy cute little girlie shoes. Most people only think of little girls as having a huge closet full of shoes- but I just want you all to rest assured that I am well provided for in that department. Here is just a tiny example of the shoes that I already have and am just waiting to fit into. I am able to wear the blue & orange sneakers and actually wore them today when I accompanied Mommy to the Broker's Open that she was having for one of her listings. I got numerous compliments on them- so way to go Mamma on the spectacular shoe choice for me today! I can't wait to fit into the Crocs and wow all the little girlies with my wonderful kicks!! Women are impressed when men wear nice shoes, you know!

Lean & Mean Babysitting Team!

Mommy and Daddy went out together and left me for the first time on Saturday night. They had a wedding to attend in Philly and left me in the quite capable hands of CiCi and Bud. I had a really nice time and got to be spoiled with good quality time with the grandparents! Since I have so many sets of grandparents- Mommy and Daddy should never be short a babysitter! CiCi and Bud told Mommy that I was great and did not fuss too much- but Mamma found it hard to believe since I am starting to teethe and was fussy all day before she & Daddy left. I am cranky, drooling like a faucet, not sleeping well, and gnawing on things! Sounds like teething, right?? Mommy and Daddy had a nice time and did not rush home. Mommy didn't even call the whole time she was gone to check on me. Usually she is proud of me- but this time I am proud of her!!!

Doc Visit

So...I had to go to the pediatrician yesterday. I had a gunky, puffy red eye. Good thing I went, because the doc gave Mommy some meds to put in my eye and also found out that I had a little fever. I was a little fussy yesterday- but am feeling better now! You can tell from the pic that my left eye is a bit squinty! You might also be able to tell from the pic that I am getting chunkier every day. I weighed 13lbs 1.8 oz!! Can you believe it?

Oops...I Made a Mistake!!

I mistakenly quoted Uncle Sammy as calling me Pork Cop and in reality he has been calling me Pork Roll!!! How could I have made such a grave error? Maybe because I have soooo many nick names!!! Here are just a few of them...Thunder, Thunder Thighs, Jackaroo, Jackalicious, Jack "The Jackhammer" Ryan, Thunder Doodle, Baby Pud, Little Buddy, Jackie Boy (Mommy & Daddy don't like this one), Little Chunker, and many more that I cannot think of right now. How funny is it that Mommy said she named me Jack because she simply wanted to call me Jack and now she is the one making up most of these names!! Look at Mommy messing with me above. I am such a good boy for dealing with her picking at & making fun of me all the time!!

Rollin' Ryan

I decided that I would impress Mommy this week with my rolling skills. I was trying to master this for Daddy on Father's Day- but alas...I was not able to perform time! I have been thinking about it all the time and decided that today was the day. Mommy put me down for my daily "tummy time" and I just started rolling from my tummy to my back. I know that the hard rolling is yet to come (back to tummy) but I still have to work on that- so just give me a month or so!! Anyway- Mommy thought that it might have been a fluke, so she set me back on my tummy and I really wanted to show her that I could indeed do it- so I proceeded to do it 5 more times! She was so impressed with me and it made me feel so good that she was proud of me. I also got to accompany Mommy and CiCi to Macy's so Mommy could buy a dress for a wedding that she is attending this weekend. I was very well behaved and Mommy also told me that she was proud of me for being so good while she shopped! This wedding will be the first time Mommy and Daddy will go out together since I was born. I want them to have fun- but I know I will miss them terribly. Thank goodness they are leaving me in the capable hands of CiCi and Bud!!! Check out my video below of my rolling good time! And the hits just keep on coming!!!! I have been down in Avalon all week and Uncle Sammy has been here too since he is living/working (if we can call sitting at the Paper Peddler work) here this summer. Well- he insists on calling me Pork Chop.  Does it have to do with the cheeks?? Maybe the numerous chins?? I think I am darn cute- chins, cheeks  all...so I wear the name Pork Chop like a badge of honor, Uncle Boog!!

Father's Day

Father's Day was a very nice day and I do believe that Daddy had a good time. Mommy wanted to make it very special for him since he will only have his first Father's Day once!! She and CiCi made a big breakfast with tons of tasty food that I was upset I could not partake in. Mommy provided me with some yummy milk- but I know it was not the same as the french toast or the hash brown casseroles!!!! Mommy bought Daddy a really funny "Republican" onesie that I wore all day. Bud and Daddy have a running political debate and I was dressed on Daddy's side since it was Father's Day. Part of the present was the onesie- and then the other part of the present was for Daddy to see Bud's face once he saw the onesie. I am not too sure what it all meant- but I was glad that i got to be part of it. All in all- I think Daddy had a nice day and i was glad that i could spend it with him!  Love ya, Daddy...You are the BEST!!!!!

Four Generations and a Furry Aunt Sadie

I was told by Mommom that there were four generations present for dinner at her house on Wednesday. I got to meet my Pipop- who is Mommom's Daddy. He is my only Great Grandfather and I am sure glad I got to spend some time with him. Mommy and I greeted him at the door when he arrived at the cottage and he immediately took me from Mommy and held me for me minute. Mommy was laughing- because Pipop and I both had on plaid shirts and jean shorts. Dd he look hip and young or was I dressed too mature for my age?? The jury is still out on that one. But-we kinda looked like twins and I liked it! Mommom cooked and, of course- I was fussy during dinner so Mommy had to eat while standing. That's OK- she is getting used to it and getting very good at doing things with one hand!! I also got to meet my (Aunt) Sadie. She is a black furry dog- but since Mommom and Poppy always called her Mommy's sister- then I guess that makes her my Aunt!! She likes to lick a lot and she even accosted me while I was just relaxing in my swing. I didn't mind the doggy kiss- but they were very wet!! I can't believe that I am almost 3 months old and still meeting so many family members- and I am told I have a lot more to meet. How will I ever remember all the names?

Check Out My Cheeks!!!

I need to take some time today to address this crazy rumor that I have massive cheeks!!! I do admit that they do seem to have some meat to them- but they are not so abnormally large as I feel people are making them out to be. I'm starting to get a complex that not only are my cheeks massive- but that I am a chunky baby to boot. In reality- yes...I admit that my cheeks have grown a little larger in recent days- but I firmly believe that I am going through a growth spurt right now and all of that "FAT' is being stored in my cheeks until my body catches up and disperses it properly! Then it is going to work it's way down my body. I will lengthen and become a lean, mean, baby spit machine!! If you notice I also seem to be having a drooling problem. I am not sure where this came from (most likely Mamma because she seems to drool a lot too- especially for an adult!) or why it has started- but I seem to be a drooly, spit bubble mess of late. I do hope this growth spurt thing comes to an end soon, though- because I am eating constantly, sleeping a ton, and fussy during my waking moments. I do not mean to be like this- so I hope things return to normal soon! As far as those cheeks go, though...hang in there, my good cheeky friends- because I don't want to lose you completely. You are part of my charm!!

A Little Golfer in the Making

When I speak of the beach I cannot forget to talk about Nana & Grandpop's house in Cape May as well! We visited them recently and I had a very nice time. I had some great tummy time while I was there (as you can see above) and I also got to show off my super cool golf themed hat that my Godmamma Katie gave me. I wore it specifically for Grandpa George because he is an avid golfer like my Dad. I hope to one day be able to hit some balls with them and show them what a good player I hope to be! Nana golfs too...so hopefully she will come along. We will just leave Mommy home alone because much she prefers shopping for shoes and purses to swinging the old 9 iron! I am gonna start practicing as soon as I have enough muscle control to swing a club and walk. Heck- I might even try to start buffing up for the game as early as when I can crawl just to make my Daddy proud...FORE!!!!!!!!!

Ahhhhh...the Beach!

  

 

I had my first day ON the beach today!!!!!! Basically I just slept & slept & slept some more. It takes a lot out of a little baby like me to have my senses on overload like that! I mean- between the lulling sound of the seagulls and the surf, the warmth of the sun on my body (even though I was under the umbrella) and the smell of the salt air- how could I not just fall right off to sleep with ease?? Mommy and Daddy even got some relaxation time while I snoozed. I did just want to sleep in Daddy's arms most of the time, though! It was such a great day! CiCi even missed out on the awards ceremony where she was honored with 2 blue ribbons from the Avalon Flower Show because she wanted to be on the beach with me enjoying every second. What a day...

Uncle Sammy, the Goofball!

My Uncle Sam is such a crazy guy! He was pretending to be me always sucking on my paci!!! I love that he is so goofy and I smile at him all the time. I just hope that Mommy & Daddy did not name me after him because they hope that I will grow up to be silly like that! I get to see him at the beach this weekend and I am soooo excited. I hope he takes me on the beach and we can play together in my beach cabana!

Overtired

Mommy and I went to our first "luncheon" yesterday! Auntie Nina had us and Nana over to her house to celebrate Nana's Birthday. You can't even tell from the picture- but Auntie Nina is pregnant and her baby (my cousin) will be here in October! I am soooo excited to have another little one my age in the family. We already know that it is a boy- so I am double excited!!! I hope that we are like 2 peas in a pod. I was so excited to go be at the luncheon that I just would not take a nap and that night when we got home I was OVERTIRED!! Mommy tried everything to get me to go to bed- but I refused! Finally I decided to give her a break and went to bed around 11-11:30pm. (see above for me passed out after my long day) Then guess what I did...I slept the longest I have ever slept! I woke up this AM around 6am. Mamma fed me- then I was back down until 10am. She just hopes that I do not sleep too much today and won't go to bed tonight! We shall see...I will keep you posted!

More Family Fun at the Beach

OK- So it has been a few days and I am finally getting to post the rest of my "Family Fun Time" from memorial Day weekend. (Mommy has been doing Real Estate stuff recently and has fallen behind with my blogging!)

Let me introduce to you the Ryan side of my family! Pappa and Nana, Uncle Rick, Aunt Sarah, Cousin Maggie and Great Grandma "GiGi." Pappa and Nana live in Cape May- only about 20 minutes from CiCi and Bud in Avalon- which will make it REALLY convenient for me to see everyone when I am down at the beach!

My Cousin Maggie is really nice and I can't wait until I am a little bit bigger and I can play with her and she can teach me stuff. She (and her mommy and daddy) have been so generous to me! They gave me TONS of clothes, toys, and baby gear as well! Mommy really appreciates it. They even gave me this cool toy to help me walk when the time comes for that.

I had a really great time seeing everyone and can't wait to do it again real soon! Love you all!!
