Easter

Well- the Easter Bunny knew to find me in North Carolina!!!! Mommy assured me that he would- but I was relieved to wake up on Sunday morinng to see those wonderful plastic eggs hidden all over the condo and a basket filled with goodies just for me!!!!!! The day only got better- because Mommom and Poppy went to brunch with us on Lake Norman- which gave us a nice water view!! The meal was so good that it deserved a  nap in the car- of which Poppy and I definitely cashed in on...

Happy Birthday!!!!

Today is my Birthday!!!!!!!! And I get to spend it with Mommom and Poppy!!!!!!!!!
Mommom and Poppy got in to town after I got home from school and we quickly ran over to their hotel so I could see them. We celebrated me turning the big #5 by going  out to a pizza birthday dinner and even had yummy chocolate cake. I received tons of cards from everyone and loved going to the mailbox each day leading up to my birthday to see who sent me funny fabulous cards. Other than being back in Pennsylvania with all every single one of my frends and relatives- I am not sure that it could have been a better day.

Koala

This is me talking about Australia, which we learned about in school!
Good pronunciation of the word Koala, huh??? Just wait until you hear me say
Didgeridoo!!!

Yearly Tradition

North Carolina Schmorth Carolina...nothing- not even 600 miles, was going to stop CiCi from continuing our yearly tradition of Thai food the day before my bday. This time it was at Basil restaurant- just across the street from my school. Although I did not partake- the ladies seemed to think it was pretty darn good! Thanks for continuing such a wonderful tradition and including me in it even though technically I was not there for the first one...

School Celebration

I got to take my cake pops to school today- the day before my birthday for my "special celebration!" Normally I would have done it tomorrow on my actual birthday- but we have our Easter celebration tomorrow. So- basically I got to have 2 parties at school! Yay for me turing 5 & Yay for Easter!!!!! CiCi came with mommy to help with my celebration and CiCi even got to read a book to my whole class. You could tell that she used to be a teacher...Everyone told me that they loved her rendition of "How to Give a Cat a Cupcake!" I was proud of her and super happy to have had her & mommy come in to help me celebrate with all of my school friends & teachers. It truly was my "special day!"

Birthday Celebration Prep

Here I am...gearing up for my big "special day" birthday celebration at school tomorrow. Since our rental has no baking supplies, mommy was not able to bake me anything to take in to my class, but instead she found a local cake pop extraordinaire who made me some fabulous treats for my school celebration. I also got a Chima shirt to wear on my birthday- letting everyone know I am 5 years old!! I am getting so excited to share my bday celebration with all of my new friends at school. Stay tuned for how the festivities turned out...

Discovery Place

Mommy, CiCi and I headed over to the Discovery Place today. This is an interactive children's museum that mainly focuses on science and technology. I had gone there with my school once when we were talking about the Rain Forest- but today we got to go through the while museum, not just once section- and it was awesome!!! It is just 3 blocks from ou house, so CiCi got us a years membership, which will definitely come in useful. There was so much to do that I was like a ping pong ball- bouncing from one activity to the next. I touched a starfish, built a maze, learned about polar bears, got to lie on a bed of nails, played with gravity & tested my strength and  saw a jellyfish and other cool sea life. The best thing of the whole day, though- was getting to do all of it with CiCi!

We have been hanging out and fwaying (playing) and CiCi even gave me my birthday present early...an iPad!!! Can you believe it? Mommy does not even have her own iPad and I do- I am one lucky boy! Check me out doin' the happy early bday present iPad  dance...

CiCi Comes Today!!!

I was bugging mommy all last week about how long it was going to be before CiCi came to visit- so we came up with a chart to help! It really saved mommy's sanity- because one we started filling in the days- I no longer asked 67X per day how long it was going to be before we got our first visitor to Charlotte! I think we just might have to do the same thing for when  Mommom and Poppy come next week!

Carolina Raptor Center

Today at school the Carolina Raptor Center came to talk to us. They even brought two owls for us to look at! Here is what I learned about owls...

*They eat rats, snakes & frogs
*They sleep during the day- and hunt for food at night- which means they are nocturnal
*Owls have noses- but they are right under their eyes and just nostrils, no actual "nose" shape
*Owls can turn their necks really far around in almost a circle
* Girl owls are typically larger than boy owls

There was one owl that we saw at school (named Bob even thought she was a girl) that had been hit by a car so she was blind. The Raptor Center took her in and nursed her back to health and she loves going to schools and showing off for us kids!

It was the coolest experience and I totally impressed mommy and daddy with my vast knowledge of this very awesome animal! As much as I liked the educational side of the visit- I was totally entertained when the boy owl pooped on the floor!!! Come on- the whole experience could not just be about learning- I am still a little boy who is amused by that stinky dirty kind of stuff!!!

Spring Allergies?

It is the first day of Spring and I am home sick. At first this morning mommy thought I was getting a cold because my throat hurt and my nose was running- and so she kept me home from school.  But after talking to Miss Brenna and canceling a park play date for later today- the new diagnosis might just be allergies. Things are starting to bloom down here and I am sure there are plants that I am not used to & that we did not have in Pennsylvania- so maybe I have seasonal allergies? Who knows...but if this is the case, I better form a tolerance to it, because I can't send the whole Spring cooped up indoors!!!!

We are in the red...

Kids Eat Free On Tuesday!

Not only did we get a chair at Ikea today- but I got free food! Who knew that they have a "kids eat free on Tuesday" promotion? Probably most people...but for mommy and me it was a new & fab discovery! Then after we checked out, I got an extra treat- fro yo! Mommy figured since she did not have to buy me dinner the least she could do was splurge $1 for some frozen wonderfulness! Good call, mamma- I like the way you think...

L-E-G-O

I have been practicing my letters recently-  using my Lego Star Wars shirt as inspiration!

Forgot To Flush!!!

A leprechaun visited Auntie Al's house last night...he used the potty but forgot to flush!!!!!
Happy St. Patty's Day!!!!!

A Brood Of Boys

Mommy and I headed up to Greensboro this weekend to see Auntie Al and her bundle of boys!!! For 24 hours I ran, jumped, wrestled, shot guns, cheered at a soccer game, played wii, rumpused, ate, played in a blanket fort, rested very little, and just out & out had a crazy good time full of testosterone and stinky sweaty fun!!! Reed was my main source of entertainment and we hit it off right from the first second we met- but Peyton (the oldest) and Crosby (one of the middle boys) also kept me very busy! Blake (the baby) was adorable and I just felt like one of the family. Was not a huge fan of their dog- a boxer named Rex- because he is still a puppy and likes to jump- but we managed to coexist alright. Since we are so close now- I look forward to many many many more boy filled weekends!!!!
