Pumpkin Patch

 

 

We went to the pumpkin patch with the Petrane's and guess what we didn't get??? Pumpkins!!! We did everything else there...corn maze, water pump, picture op with the harvest decorations, tether ball, hayride and some good old fashioned running around- but we opted against weighing ourselves down with those heavy pumpkins. Guess mom will have to get those another day when we are having less fun!!!!!

Can you tell that my mom has too much time on her hands now that I am in school full time??? WHAT did she do to my precious little face????? Guess she is just getting into the Halloween spirit! SCARY!!!



Wildcat Fun Run

 

I got to participate in a "Fun Run" at my school this year. Since the County where we live gave our school 25% less money than they did last year- this fundraiser was necessary so us little kiddies could have things like books for our classrooms! I want to thank my family that gave money to help me have these very useful things that aid me in my quest for knowledge! The run was super fun and I completed 22 laps in 35 minutes!!!! There was even a further prize within the Run...the one student from each class who completed the most laps would win a free ice cream.  I was spurred on by a motivation to win that ice cream...but alas, there was another boy in my class who ran more laps and he got the very coveted cold creamy treat. To my surprise that night, however...mommy made me a special milkshake because she was so incredibly proud of my efforts and my drive to win! I even got a cool water bottle and t-shirt to commemorate the event...but I will always remember the Fun Run because of the wonderful time I had competing with my class and friends- and I cannot wait to see what materials my class will now get from the proceeds! 

 

 

 

Friends

I miss my old friends from PA, but I am doing a good job of making friends down here! I have met some people in my neighborhood- as well as some friends from the bus and school. I am even getting to have one friend come over to my house tomorrow to play after school. Even though I am meeting newer friends- I cannot forget about the kids I met while living in the city. Mom and I met Zack and his mom out at a park this weekend and had a blast! There was this awesome obstacle course & a lake for feeding ducks. I was so pooped after running & playing all day with Zack...it was a GREAT day!

 

Numbers

Not only am I rocking it with my letters and word recognition...but I am really doing well with  my numbers, too.  Here is a page that I wrote while mommy was cooking me dinner tonight. No help at all- just me writing out numbers all by myself!!

Lovin' Life

 

 

As I have updated you to our move and our adjustment to life in NC, I have left someone out. This someone is a very important part of our family and I just wanted to reassure you that Mia has adjusted well and is living the good life- enjoying her cat naps in the full bright sun that streams into our new home daily! There were no mishaps during this move and she did not get stuck in a basement wall for 2 weeks this time...just lazy sunny days and lots of good views for our sweet little girl. 12 years old and she has survived 5 moves. She is a trooper!

 

It's A SNAP!

I came home from school today with my ring of "snap" words. I know all of them already- but still wanted mommy to practice with me about 4 times today! I am just so excited about this reading thing. I  know it takes time for all of the pieces to fall into place- but I sure am loving the process and I am so excited for the day when I will be able to read to mommy and daddy- instead of them reading to me!

 

R E A D I N G

I am so inspired by what I am learning in school that I am always trying to put it to practical use. Tonight when mommy and I ate dinner at the local 50's inspired burger joint, I practiced sounding out my letters and I even spotted the word HOT DOG by looking for the H on the menu! Before long I am going to be reading whole words...so watch out!!!

Bracelets Galore!!

We have joined the ranks of the Rainbow Loom fanatics! After seeing some cool bracelets at the local fair and having my friends make me some...I decided that I thought I should give it a whirl. The fabulous piece of plastic and its accompanying rubber bands arrived today via mom's Amazon Prime account and I got right to work! Although I had fun- I think mommy had a bit more fun & just might steal it from me. After I had completed my bracelet quota for the day, I left the Rainbow Loom in her hands- and when I walked back in on her 30 minutes later, she was watching a YouTube video on how to make a "fishtail" bracelet. So- guess now I understand why when I told mom I wanted it, she got it for me with no arguments!!! Have fun with your loom, mom...but make sure you share it with me, OK???
